Our Work

The Hyperlocalism (HyLo) team is an interdisciplinary research group from the University of Miami.

Our goal is to create a new method of public engagement for community climate adaptation planning.

Our Mission

The HyLo team’s mission is to create a new, science-backed model of climate adaptation and resilience planning that gives high-need communities and their governments a unique way of interacting and communicating.

Our Vision

Our vision is a network of partners and communities that use the HyLo model to develop locally relevant climate action plans, improve communication between residents and their elected officials, and foster information sharing within and between communities.

Where We Work

The HyLo team is proud to work with community groups, governmental organizations, and residents of select neighborhoods to imagine solutions to current and future climate challenges.
